jlb8080 45 Posted February 9, 2020 So I’ve never been one to not eat healthy. I gained 80lbs because of health issues in just a couple years. I was super fit and a personal trainer before that. I had surgery in December 2019. I mainly eat Protein naturally. Is it important to eat more protein for a reason? I notice I can’t eat much more than the protein anyways? 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted February 9, 2020 Yes it's important to eat healthy IMHO. I truly believe that net outcome = personal attention to a focused nutrient dense diet + adherance/compliance to the doc's and RD's plan for you that includes food + movement + doing the head work + spiritual and community connection. 2 1 lisafrommassachusetts, Lily66 and jlb8080 reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted February 9, 2020 I can't remember scientifically why it's important to focus on Protein, but my surgeon and nutritionist tell me to eat my protein first before anything else. 1 jlb8080 reacted to this
jlb8080 45 Posted February 11, 2020 I guess I wasn't sure if there was a scientific reason for bariatric patients? Other than the normal Protein fills you up and keeps us from eating other "bad" things. I don't drink many Protein Shakes now days and haven't in a couple weeks. I'm only 8 weeks out.
