My surgeon's office just called to go over the guidelines for the 1 day liquid diet. Guess, I'll go have some Jello. You'll be fine! ayemeeb 13 Posted March 3, 2020 7 hours ago, Mello1 said: Yup, I was the same way. The surgeon recommended RNY, but left the decision to me for that very reason. My reflux has been bad and was getting worse and when I read that the sleeve may aggravate the problem, it was then a no brainer for me. Hey, is anyone else oscillating between being very excited to 'what the heck am I doing'? That's why I love coming on this site at times, although when I read about some other's complications, I get nervous again... I started teetering the past few days, I am trying to wrap my head around the fact that I won't be able to eat certain foods ever again. I am thinking if I can do this pre-op diet that should get me on the right track to losing weight. Idk what to do. 1 Mello1 reacted to this
Krimsonbutterflies 661 Posted March 3, 2020 Thank you Mello 1. I'm trying to get my liquids in today, but I don't have an appetite for anything. Going to drink a big bottle of Water today and some good hot broth, just because. I'm feeling weird about things that don't matter or that I won't be able to feel; being intubated, will I be able to drink after (I so want to be one of those amazing people who can still get my fluids in), I will get up and walk the gas away, I will be a rockstar!!!! Mind over matter... 1 Mello1 reacted to this

Kristyle 2 Posted March 7, 2020 Yes, everything went perfectly. I am having a lot of pain in my lower abdomen though, on the left side abut 4 inches to the left of my belly button. Any thoughts on what that could be? BTW-It only hurts when I am up moving around, when I sit or lay down it completely goes away. I couldn't tell you what the pain is, but I would imagine that it's related to the incisions -- I know for me, sometimes I get pain in other areas than the main area. I was thinking about getting a bariatric girdle (it's not called that, but I can't remember the name) to help hold my gut in, but they told me that I didn't really need anything like that. We shall see....
medicpup2 18 Posted March 8, 2020 Great to hear. If you look at a diagram of the abdominal organs, you will see that the large colon has a pretty sharp curve where you are describing. You could have a gas bubble caught there and it could be moving around when you are walking, or you could be having an issue with Constipation (depending on the kind of diet your doc had you on preop), there is also something called an ilius, which is a type of obstruction that happens after surgery which usually passes on it's own. Try gentle rocking to see if you can pass some gas. If it does not ease up by tomorrow with walking and gentle rocking to pass gas, I would call my doc to be on the safe side. They know everything to expect and they know all the symptoms. Good luck. 1 Mello1 reacted to this
ImsexyandIknowit 50 Posted March 8, 2020 I have pain like that but on my rt side it's the spot the stomach was removed from so it's a bit tender hurts more when I try to sit up when laying down. Each day things will improve. 🙂
