Its amazing how deceiving the menus can be - "Fish tacos", I don't order them, but I know people who do and thinks its healthy because its "fish".

What an eye opener.

I must live a really sheltered life. I've never even heard of these places or their food! Eye-opening, nonetheless

I was SHOCKED by the Aussie Fries too..... 4 or 5 of us will split them before our meal... that is a HUGE appetizer! Won't eat that again!

Holy Cow said the Bovine Priest!!! Those are some shocking numbers, and I now see the main contributer (other than myself) for my weight gain. Chili's, which was my favorite restaurant for years, was killing me!! :) I am shocked by how high some of those fat content numbers are!

My sister-in-law thought she was getting a "healthy" burger at Ruby Tuesdays by ordering the turkey burger--what a hoot!

Wish they printed them on the menu for people--and they wonder WHY we are an obese society! :rolleyes

Wow, I love the Ruby Tuesday turkey burgers. I don't think I get the Bella burger, but still. I usually skip the bread, but it sounds like I need to skip the burger!!

Wow @ the Chipotle chicken Crispers.

Holy crap! What's sad is I've eaten several of the things on that list, THINKING it was a healthier choice. Wow! I love the taco salads at On the Border, that's depressing!

That's really not a bad idea, McDonalds does that now, why shouldn't ALL of the restaurants have to do that?

I look at Weight Loss Programs - Nutrition Facts - Fast Foods and Restaurants - DietFacts.com before going somewhere. I learned a while ago, things have SO many hidden calories, it's disgusting.. and no wonder America is so obese :)

I use to get Chili's chicken fingers.. then found out from diet facts how many calories were in it, and I was horrified.. so yeah, always check it out before you go!!

My favorite meal at Outback has over 6000 calories!!!!! One of my favorite restaurants too. I used to order either a Fosters or a Wallaby Darned, blooming onion to share, Outback special steak, add 3 coconut shrimp, jacket potato and salad with blue cheese. Even skipping dessert it's over 6000! I can't believe I used to eat this way normally and wonder why I was fat!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
