Krimsonbutterflies 661 Posted March 17, 2020 Mello 1, I'm praying for you to have a successful surgery and that everyone who comes in your path is in good health and touches you with blessed hands. That's my prayers for each of you having your surgery, no matter what the date may be. I will respond to the other comments directed to me later, I'm so fatigued and not focused right now. I also feel a little bit under the weather, going to practice a lot of self care and hydration (hopefully). 2 Nermada and biginjapan reacted to this

I bought so many different broths and Soups so I’d have a variety, and the idea of ANY of them makes me nauseous. I also can just BARELY stand the thought of any of the shakes. And I desperately want all the food my husband is cooking for my family. I know I’ll get through it, and it’s worth it, I just needed to share with people who would get it. Also, I’m so sorry to the people who are getting canceled. From my perspective, I am terrified right now about developing complications that could send me back to the hospital in the midst of chaos. For example, I developed a little respiratory rattle in the Hospital BC I can’t breathe deeply bc of the pain, and I’m so scared it will develop into pneumonia. Also I feel like while I’m healing my immune system is compromised, so I’m nervous about that too. I don’t mean to devalue the experience of getting your surgery postponed. I would have been devastated. But there are some pros to it. Now will someone help me get out of the Tunnel of Misery? How far out are you? I’m feeling the same way about all of the liquids. I just want family dinner!

CammyC 291 Posted March 17, 2020 hello all, I had an eventful day. I went back to work today—my first day back after two weeks out. Well all was fine until around lunch when I fainted at my desk. The manager wanted to call an ambulance and I was like oh heck naw!! I’m not going to a hospital while this virus is out there! So I called my surgeon’s office and they told em to come in. I had to get my Mom to meet me halfway because I got dizzy while driving...so scary!! They gave me fluids and Vitamins intravenous and sent me home for another week. Two weeks was def not long enough for my recovery. I know we’re all different, but so happy to have a surgeon who cares! @Girlnextdoor00 I had the sleeve on March 3rd and yes I felt the internal pulling of my incisions! Oh it lasted Into the second week! My only advice is just because aware of your movements and take things slow. I hope it gets better soon. @mello1 thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery! Sending you positive vibes!❤️ @KokoA That really sucks that your surgery was postponed especially after doing pre-op stuff!! I too had a postponement although mine was for insurance reasons but it was still put off for almost two more months. I finally had it March 3rd when my original surgery date was January 14th. I hope it rescheduled soon for you. @asnirak I’m not sure how many days out you are but just hold on!!! Everyday your new insides will get a little bit better. I wish I had more words but I’m two weeks post-op today so I know the first few days suck! What about sugar free Jello and /or sugar free popsicles?? I lived on sf popsicles for the first 4-5 days post surgery. 3 biginjapan, heavenlyscrts and Mello1 reacted to this

I know we’re all different, but so happy to have a surgeon who cares! Oh, I hope you're feeling better! Did the doctor say why this happened? The only time I almost fainted was after my first surgery in Mexico. I waited until I was a week out before flying back to Japan (spent some time in San Diego which was great), but that was a long day - train to LA, then flight to Korea then flight to Japan, then a train from the airport back home. I drank Water and Protein Drinks all along the way (and had miso Soup at the airport), but when I got off the train my whole body was shaking and felt very strongly that I was about to pass out. I'm guessing I was suffering from hypoglycemia. Luckily there was a small kiosk right near where I got off so I got a little box of fruit juice and sat down and drank that and it really helped and I was able to get home without a problem. Anyway, I hope you're okay now! 1 Mello1 reacted to this

When I had my sleeve in Mexico they gave me one and told me to use it regularly to promote deep breathing. I didn't use it as often as I should have and when I returned to Japan I developed a low-grade pneumonia that lasted a couple of weeks (nothing that needed hospitalisation). For my more recent surgery we didn't get anything like that but were encouraged to do deep breathing exercises (which I did when I remembered). I'm now 2 weeks post-op and so far feel good. Although to be fair if I did develop symptoms I'd probably go to the hospital because I would have no idea if it was a post-op issue, or a Covid-19 issue. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon and that it doesn't develop into anything more serious.
