They will all be sorry when my name is on that door and they are calling me boss.

My DH has a little plaque given to him by an employee that says

"Be careful whose toes you step on today, for they may be connected to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow!"

My DD actually left the medical field, because of the constant drama, and the worst offenders in her opinion are the Dr.'s wives! She worked as a private practice nurse.

She is now an admin assistant for an oilfield crew. There are other women in the same position she is, but with different crews. She loves it. More money, less stress, and zero drama!

Hang in there, I am a firm believer in Karma!

The drama and politics in medicine is horrifying and severe. Doctor's wives, they are a pain in the butt. I don't count myself in that group. I'm not typical of what you refer to. But I love to make fun of those who are.

Oooops had no idea you were a Dr.'s wife! I meant no offense! She worked over a period of several years for 2 different GP's, both working in a small town self owned practice. Both wives were VERY involved! Since she left, not only both Dr.'s but both Dr.'s wives have ask her to return! That's what happens when you have a good employee you treat like crap---you miss them!! So that's why I say hang in there, until something better comes along whether it is there or elsewhere, the best revenge is a happy, successful life!!!

One of the Dr.'s she worked for for years is my PCP. He is very interested in banding for his wife. She is not terribly overweight--obese yes, morbidly so--not at all. But she is diabetic, and will not try to control it with diet. She has seen my success, and wants it so bad, but is too far above me to ask me about it! He is a major granola cruncher, he is Mr Recycle, and he jogs daily, and bikes long distances, he has not got an extra ounce on him! They are polar opposites! He is laid back easy going, she is bouncing off the walls! He is neat as a pin, come night fall he still has a crease in his pants, she maybe washes her hair once a week. Bizarre, they raised 4 kids, and manage despite the differences!!!

Ohhh, no offense taken. I have a much different attitude than most. When R was in private practice for awhile when the girls would get overwhelmed and I would go in to help I made very sure not to step on toes. I did what they told me to do and nothing more, nothing less. They felt comfortable calling me when they were slammed with work so I must have done as I intended! HA!

Doctor's wives are just horrible, I can't stand them. I've told them that a time or two as well. I rarely socialize with them unless I have to. I hate being around them.

Doctor's wives, for the most part, are the worst! Very few of the ones I've dealt with work and they're all about a size 2 and think they are the cutest things ever to come down the pike! They have too much time on their hands, so they come down to the school and act like they own the place and gossip and cause trouble and their kids never get in trouble no matter how crappy their behavior. I saw it all when I was a SAHM - which brings up another point - bitchery is not confined to the workplace. But that's another rant ...

OMG it must be the same every place! I work with some real cut throats. They use all of their assets if you know what I mean. It never matters how hard I work I am just the fat girl. I have always hated working with other women. They will steel your man and your job if you are not careful.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
