BadWolfGirl 245 Posted January 29, 2020 Had RNY Monday morning. Was doing well enough to head home Tuesday afternoon. Sipped as much as I could but it's like as soon as it hits my stomach I need to burp to make it go down. It's slightly painful but overall not terrible. The incision pain is annoying at best.I feel super sluggish today on day 3 and I know that's to be expected but when does the pain of swallowing stop into the belly or the burping to get it down?Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
JB1 37 Posted January 29, 2020 Hi. Congrats on a smooth start! What you've described is part of the process. I'm post sleeve 5wks, and at first I could only get down sips and burped too. Dont remember it being painful, but i took my pain meds as told so that may be why. Remember your stomach was just cut and rearranged so your gonna feel twinges here and there while it and nerves heal. Now that I'm on regular foods I find that burping is a trigger to tell me to stop. I can eat more but when i do, i feel uncomfortable and have to wait for the burp to come to feel better. Other signs of fullness early on are running nose, sneezing, and hiccups. In my first 3 weeks my nose ran when I drank or ate anything.😄
