happyhuc 0 Posted January 29, 2005 all the time, not just when I eat. Has anyone else experienced this? Would this mean that my esophagus is inflammed or my band has slipped? I had the flu back on January 16th in which time I vomited probably six times over a 17 hour period. I had kept in touch with my surgeon, and he said everything was probably okay.... I don't have a fill yet and it had been almost six weeks since surgery. I can eat and drink just fine... no pb'ing or vomiting. But this 'lump' at the bottom of my throat is ALWAYS there now and it does get worse when I eat. It feels like I swallowed a whole apple and it's lodged at the base of my throat. Any suggestions? lapbander081004 7 Posted January 29, 2005 I'd suggest calling your Dr and having him examine the band. The vomiting from the flu may have moved it since it was recently placed.
Chris S. - L.I. 0 Posted January 29, 2005 I had this same problem about a week after surgery. It felt like I had a burp stuck. I called the doc and he said it was normal. I used Gas X tablets and they seemed to help. Congrats on having the surgery!!!!! Hope you feel better!
Mita 2 Posted January 29, 2005 I just got over a horrible sore throat I myself thought it was reflux 1st cause I could not swallow and had burning when I drank Water. But the phlegm showed up then I new it was a cold I have been babying myself warm liquids and Nexium that the Dr told me to take. Just check with your Dr and see if they can give you any advise or take a look. Oh and Congrats

paula 4 Posted January 29, 2005 I'd suggest calling your Dr and having him examine the band. The vomiting from the flu may have moved it since it was recently placed. That is EXACTLY what I would do. I would rather be safe, then sorry.
HarleyNana 10 Posted January 29, 2005 I couldn't even swallow Water yesterday without it coming back, the culprit, I had taken large of a bite and not chewed enough a slice of steamed, (not very soft) squash. Once I got that dang squash seed up, I was fine, but it was hell until that came back. Amazing how a itsy bitsy seed can cause such pain and misery.
kimalicious 5 Posted January 29, 2005 After I was banded for a few weeks I had the same feeling. It was almost like the back of my toungue was being pulled back...it was not painful, just weird. It went away after a week or so. I just figured it was my body getting used to the band...let me know if you find anything out...
