Dianetqf 0 Posted January 26, 2020 I had surgery January 16th for hiatel hernia closure and at same time my gastric sleeve surgery was converted to the bypass cause my stomach kept getting lodged in the hernia. I have the symptoms of an anastomotic leakage, pain in left shoulder area off and on while eating and have to stop eating rare back in seat until it stops. For last 3 days it's done this while eating. So I googled that question and it said an anastomotic leakage is what this symptom comes from. 1 Losingit2018 reacted to this

GradyCat 3,695 Posted January 26, 2020 When do you follow up with your surgeon? I would call the doctor.
toodlerue 452 Posted January 26, 2020 Go to emergency at the hospital where you had your surgery. It’s better to be safe then sorry! 1 Losingit2018 reacted to this

toodlerue 452 Posted January 28, 2020 Did you go to emergency or at least speak with your surgeon? What’s up?
Recidivist 1,141 Posted January 30, 2020 I don't mean to alarm you, but I had a leak after my surgery and did experience the left shoulder pain you are talking about. (I was still in the hospital when they found the leak.) The good news is that the leak was fixed quickly and easily and I did very well after that.
BigLoser2020 9 Posted February 1, 2020 Yes - A leak is a serious complication! If you’re having symptoms of a leak, you should go to the ER immediately for evaluation.
