Flexible Spending/Flex Benefits...How much?

Recommended Posts

I need to enroll in Flexible Spending/Flex Benefits for next year but I don't know how much to take out. Can anyone help me with a ROUGH Guess-timate of how much it may cost after insurance pays? Is it just co-pays & deductibles?

Thanks in advance for help. My hope is to get banded next year when I get on my husband's insurance.

Thanks,

Kim

I would take a look at what you have paid out of pocket for the last few years and go from there. Also keep in mind you can purchase Over-the-counter stuff, eye glasses, anything that insurance does not cover in regrds to medical exp. How much is your ded etc. All your drug co-pays are covered here. The plan we have we have a charge card and use that to pay most things including doctor visits etc. If you have any other questions e-mail me at vcw61@excite. com and I will try to help you. Also you can go to the IRS web site and get the complete list of stuff under medical ded.

I just had to do mine today. That's really hard to say about someone else when you don't know how much their co-pays and stuff are. It was hard to determine my own.

My suggestion is like the person said before me to add on to the expenses from last year. I was self-pay and completely underestimated. I still think it's better to overestimate some. You can always buy extra over the counter stuff, contacts, glasses, fill up from medicine cabinet, etc to use up any excess.

Do a little research..if your surgery is already planned call and find out the out of pocket. Also, if you have to pay some of your aftercare find out how much that will cost also.

I used my Flexcard to buy a lot of the stuff I need pre-surgery too like a heating pad, liquid tylenoll, prescriptions needed, etc.

This year I signed up for a Health Saving Plan, so the amount rolls over to the next year.

Double check the deductible-my ins. has a special deductible of $2500 for weight loss surgery. So I included that in my flex plan for 2008 :(

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
