I'm a side sleeper, not a stomach sleeper, but I think it took a good 2-3 weeks before I could sleep on my side. Not much you can do about swelling except maybe ice packs. Swelling is pretty common after surgeries. It should go down soon..

Did your surgeon provide an abdominal binder?

IMHO,

Continue to take your pain meds as needed & in due time you will get better.
