My fav to this day and I started it in purées my 2nd week post op (I was sleeved on 12/12/19) is I put refried Beans in a bowl, add ground beef (I puréed this that 2nd week) and then add salsa and cheese. Microwave it and bam! Super easy. I’m 5 weeks out now and I still make it all the time. I’ve even added olives, used turkey meat instead of ground beef.. I like it cuz it’s quick and a lot of protein!!

Surgery date was 1/13. I am on carnation breakfast essentials for this week. Also broth, juices Jello etc.Having a hard time getting them down.Anyone else have this problem?
I had surgery on the 8th and jello is really the only thing that still hurts going down....i suppose maybe I'm not chewing it enough but it's the only time when I really still get that sternum pain like gas is trying to escape.... sugar free popsicles have been my favorite treat lol

Kinda hard to chew Jello.Everything I eat or drink hurts in the sternum.I haven't been able to find sugar free pops.I have friends that have found them and by the time I get there they must have run out.I had checked way before I had surgery and can't find them.I'll have to keep trying.

Me, too - gave away my sugar free jello because it causes pain (am six weeks out.) But I'm only taking in 850-950 calories a day so it's no longer needed, thank goodness. It did help me with weight loss prior to surgery, though.

Hey everyone I had The sleeve done January 9 2020 An Hw 276 Sw 262 Cw 253 An I haven’t lost any more weight I’m so frustrated 😤 The only thing I notice was my sides has went in on my stomach and my face look skinny. Not only that I can drink a whole water bottle and it doesn’t hurt . My doctor said it was ok but I don’t think that’s normal. I do everything I suppose to I look at myself in the mirror and it makes me regret this 😞

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
