I've not tried that, but I do eat other types of Pasta. In fact, I had spaghetti tonight. I can't eat very much of it, but I do enjoy it from time to time.

My doctor said absolutely no canned pastas.

That would be because of calorie content...

I've had spaghetti-o's a couple of times. They come in kid sized cups now, too, so it's just about the right size for a bandster!

LOL1 I was going to tell you that I crave it sometimes, too, and I gotta say, it's never hit the spot the way I thought it would. But, then, I wouldn't have listened to me, so I thought I'd let you find out that little tidbit for yourself. Does that make me a bad person? I hope not!

And, all that being said, the next time I crave it, I'll probably have some, too, and then wish I hadn't....

Honestly, one of my favorite fast food meals is the cheese ravioli with meat sauce from Fazoli's. One plate is enough for a few meals, and it's not bad on calories. Plus, it's got a decent amount of Protein (not tons, but still pretty good). I think one plate has 600 calories, and there's enough ravioli to be split into at least 3 servings (more, if you have good restriction).

It's really funny that I am reading this cuz I had the crazy craving for spaghetti-o's the other day too! Of course I horked em up and regretted even putting them in my mouth, but I did notice that it had a pretty decent protien content. You have to ignore the calories and sodium. Well that is the one with the meat balls or should I say mystery balls of processed mystery meat. It was kinda like a donut for me though. Once you eat it you regret it!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
