MrsRobinson4411 5 Posted January 11, 2020 I have been at a weight loss stand still for about 3 weeks now. I 9 weeks post op. Any suggestions?
catwoman7 11,220 Posted January 11, 2020 if you're following your surgeon's plan to T, then it's just a stall. I've heard of them lasting about that long....(and even longer once you get several months out..) 1 CapyCapybara reacted to this
MrsRobinson4411 5 Posted January 11, 2020 Thank you. I am. Slowly integrating Whole Foods but not very successful.
AZhiker 2,253 Posted January 11, 2020 If you are adding whole grains, nuts, and seeds, it is probably a bit early for this. There are so many calories in these foods, and probably better to wait until you are closer to maintenance. However, if you are simply eliminating processed foods and cooking your own fresh veggies and eating simply prepared meats, that's great. Whole foods are so much better than anything processed, but like I said, hold off on the grains, nuts, and seeds for a while. The legumes are great options, however. 1 MrsRobinson4411 reacted to this

JRT Mom 919 Posted January 11, 2020 Yeah, the stalls are the WORST!! Try not to weigh too often as it can lead to frustration. 1 CapyCapybara reacted to this
Lynda486 784 Posted January 11, 2020 My scale is finally moving again! It will happen! I eat what I call a "whole food diet" with lots Protein and veggies and fruit. I think I need to get away from my 2 Snacks a day though. How long did everyone keep snacks as a part of their daily routine? It is frustrating being in a stall, but it will end eventually as long as you stay on your plan! 1 1 MrsRobinson4411 and JRT Mom reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted January 11, 2020 It just happens, so know it isn't anything you're doing wrong. Stick to the program with your Protein and Water and it'll pass, I promise. 2 Miss Liss and MrsRobinson4411 reacted to this

Snacks are needed unless you can meet your Protein goals in 3 square meals - it's nearly impossible to do the first year, maybe with or snack instead of two, only if you can get the protein in. I STILL eat snacks at 4.5 years out. I have to eat something every 3-4 hours to a) keep myself from overdoing it at meals and 2) keep my blood sugar stable. It's been known to crash & burn (reactive hypoglycemia).
