I had my surgery 12/10/19 and I have lots of temptations and I've slipped up bc food kinda was an addiction for me and I "quit cold turkey" and the diet planning is hard when you live on a budget. Anyone have any ideas on which brands or food are good bc I've run out of Protein Shakes so I may not be getting enough not sure

but overall it's still successful I've lost 34 lbs since then and don't need to take blood pressure pills or diabetic medicine so that's pretty cool to me

you're doing great! It may be easier to buy Protein Powder and mix it with something vs buying the shakes. I ujse Isopure unflavored Protein powder and it's 30g of protein per scoop. Would last you longer than a package of shakes. Just use the powder once a day and eat the rest of you protein!

My weight before surgery was 343 and Tuesday I weighed at 314 so a total of 29lbs gone since Dec 16th.. I’m at a weight loss stall for about a week and half now but still staying focused on my goal.

My post op dr moved me to soft foods Jan 7th.. a week early because of my good progress.. so yesterday was my last day and I’m on regular diet now my issues are getting enough Protein in... Water was an issue but I switched to propel water and doing a lot better

As of today, I'm officially down 27 pounds. I'm still pureeing my Proteins, have had trouble with Fiber. My plan allows for applesauce (sugarfree) and sweet potatoes, so I'm hoping adding them into my diet will help. Been also having trouble getting enough Water. I drink water and Propel now, so I think it's helping. I have eggs, chicken, cottage cheese, fat-free cheese, turkey, peas and sweet potato. I keep craving a juicy hamburger, sans bun, with swiss cheese, onions and mushrooms....

Hi all! I had RNY on 12/17 and am doing fine. I thought with my weight in the 300’s, I would drop quickly while following the plan, but it has been pretty slow-going it seems. 31 lbs down thus far. Finishing up purée stage and have appt Wed. Not even sure what phase is next? Ha. Only trouble has been with restriction while drinking Water and eggs no longer agree with me (so bummed!). Looks like there is a lot of success and positivity in this group. Cheers (with water, of course. Lol) to a great year ahead for each of you!

Sienna this is AWESOME. Food truly is an addiction and unlike other addictions that we can give up and never have again, we have to face our food addiction several times a day. Amazing on being off those medications too - that alone is worth it! Try to focus on healthier foods, remember all the work you have done to get this far and if you can, move - even if it's just walking. It helps SO much! If you are on a budget and can't get more Protein Shakes, yogurt is a great source of Protein and not expensive (I love the "Two Good" brand - no fake sugars like sucralose, super thick and tasty, and like 12g protein in 5.3 ounces!) Read labels - milk is a good source of protein - if you can afford a Protein Powder that is cheaper than the ready-to-drink shakes, even get unflavored so you can add it to anything. Most Vitamin Shoppes have inexpensive protein powders, even online (but stores sometimes have samples so you can try them first) an d if you're tolerating chicken, 1 chicken breast is 43g protein! I can't eat one whole one in one sitting but if you can eat one in one day that's great protein there! I hope this was helpful and best of luck!

It has been 43 days since my surgery (Dec. 16, 2019) and I have only lost 22 lbs. Had the three week stall and since then I have only lost 2 lbs. It is driving me nuts. Keeping my calories around 600-700 and started working out twice a week. No change in clothes fitting either. My start weight was 96 kg and I am now at 86 kg. first week was when I lost the most weight. I hope it starts to move soon, been reading all these forums and I haven't seen anyone in my situation.

1/2 lb per day is great. Don't know what your goal is, but in another 43 days you will be @ 76kg. Seems pretty good to me.

I had surgery the same day as you. I was stuck at 25lbs down for the last 2-3 weeks (since I've returned to work). I JUST lost 3lbs over the weekend so now I'm 28lbs down.

Same as far as the first week being the most weight lost, and I haven't worked out at all yet.

I increased my Protein and I'm forcing more Water as I could only get 2 16oz bottles in a day..maybe! And who knows if that's what got those 3lbs off but I'm going to stick to what I'm doing for now, you could see if that helps?

I'm down over 43 lbs from sleeving on 12/2/19. Trying to keep calories below 800-900. Down two pant waist sizes and shirts from XXL to XL...so I'm ecstatic so far.

Congrats! I am now down almost 30 pounds since my sleeve on 12/30/19. The best feeling is fitting into smaller sizes, my clothes are getting so roomy. I also keep it under 800, typically eating about 650-700 calories per day. Trying to get more Water in of course.

I'm a month out from surgery and down 20 pounds. I've got two more weeks of puree to go, then real food! Down a pant size as well. Protein Shakes are my friend - I have to get 89g in every day. Calorie intake is about 800-900 a day.

Sleeved 12/3/19 as of today I’m 33.2lbs down and went down 2 pant sizes and I will meet my doctors weight goal for March 3 in 5.8 more pounds to lose.
Best decision I have ever made!!!

My surgery was on 12/23/19 and its been slow going, just plugging away at getting enough Protein and Water. Winter here is perfect for going nuts with lots of Soups though, so that's fun.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
