120lbs gone So far :) 19 weeks/133 days!

Recommended Posts

Well its that time of the week for my weekly check in.

Today is 19 weeks I've been on this weight loss journey.

I have to say my weight loss has slowed down too.. now it seems to take a few days to see any movements.

I have started adding more real foods into my diet like tuna and mash potato which might explain things.

It seems that it will take hard work to break into the 100s.

As of today I'm sitting at 202lbs; I'm really hoping to get under 200 soon and eventually get to like 185 If possible :)

I have ordered a decent rowing machine which I should get in a few weeks so that should help to move those last 20lbs as well as tighten up my belly area :D

I've started looking into fasting where you only eat all your Protein over a few hours then try fast the rest of the day with like just Water and coffee and sugar free stuff...just trying to see if it will help kick my weight loss back into gear as I'm getting so close to goal!!

thanks again

Mike.

Weight loss always slows down as you get closer to goal. You have done really well so far don’t stress too much if the last bit comes off slower. You shouldn’t need to go to IF or similar at this stage. Rather focus on getting in Protein and good healthy carbs in small portions and keep moving. Also staying away from mashed potatoes may help, they are very easy to overeat.

What is your BMI now?

I've only had mash like once a week maybe like one potato worth.. just for some texture.

BMI says 27.4 :)

It's going to slow down once you get into Onederland, but you've done OUTSTANDING! Way to go!

Waaayyy too soon to start this. Just be patient, let your surgery work. The less you weigh the slower you lose. You've gotten used to losing weight much faster than average. There is no need at this point to kick up your weight loss any further. Save IF for when your hunger returns, you have more stomach capacity, and need extra tools to maintain.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
