I had gastric sleeve surgery 10 months ago and I’ve only lost 29 lbs. I still have 100lbs to go. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I agree - meet with your surgeon. People lose at all different rates, but 29 lbs in 10 months is very low. Are you logging what you eat? Are you following your plan religiously? I'd definitely start by meeting with my medical team.

Something wrong definitely.

I lost the 20lbs in my first 7 days.

I agree with above all of them - Call the Doc

Also if you can meet with a Nutritionist Hire one, I do not follow any barbaric plan concerning food schedule, I with doctor approval started this journey once i got my head out of my Ass to simply get healthy. Wieght loss was second to my health! I have found it can be broken down really simple. I do not care about the 500 page plans and all the other marketing behind dieting it comes down to this flash card!

Calories IN must be way less then calories out! = equals weight loss

Carbs in/ sugar intake = discomfort and stalls in weight loss or gain

Healthy in = Healthy feeling and healthy weigh loss

Since there is not a chance in hell i am going to us a App or log or anything like that, Just a typical lazy male, i focused on intake in the healthiest way possible. It worked for me

I would hope she's been like most of us and had 1,2,3, and 6 month post-op appointments.

I was wondering the same thing! What did the doc say at your follow up apts?

I stay away from carbs, and sugar. I'm walking an average of 4.5 miles a day.

If it is too cold outside, I go to Walmart if I have to, to get my walking in.

I've lost almost 20lbs and I'm 3 weeks post op.

How are y'all adding the signature weight progress? I love it!

How have your follow up appts been going? Are you following your meal plan?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
