PB question

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Havn't been here in a long time. I had my band put in in 2005, and not a fill since 2006. I know I know I need to get my butt back in to get a fill.

Anyways after this morning I will not be on anything but liquids. Went with my son for Breakfast and we shared a meal since I can't eat a whole on anyways, had about 3 bites of hashbrowns and started with pain and pain and then eyes watering and then slime, PB city!!

Went to the bathroom and proceded to PB and slime, went back out to table miserable and urged my son to finish up quickly, got a to go box for the rest of the food, paid and went out to the truck and proceded to puke out there really freaking my son out. Anyways it was the longest trip home pulling over every other mile to spit up slime and when I got home still throwing up. Starting to get worried at this point because this is the longest I have ever done this. I have had a handful only of times PB'ing in my past this by far is the worst. Wish I would have known about the pineapple juice before, not quite sure it would have worked at that point though. Thought I was going to die!!

Not planning on eating the rest of the day, Protein Shakes and liquids only.

So tell me am I doing the right thing with liquids?

Thanks

Schel

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
