Started today but I am trying to have a movement but no success and it’s starting to hurt should I go to Er or try to wait it out as much as I can take ?

If it’s only two days, try some milk of magnesia before you go to bed.

I had horrible issues with Constipation. I take Miralax in my coffee every morning and also take dulcolax every few days. You may also want to start on a good probiotic.

I went for 5 days no bm. Dr told me to try the milk of magnesia. Enema and magnesium citrate. The enema worked well.

If you try several options and nothing works, give your dr a call on Thursday.

Good luck!

Trying to be as delicate as possible but it sounds like you may be plugged at the end of the colon if you are feeling pain and like you should be able to go. An enema really may be your best bet.

I am a long term chronic pain patient and have dealt with this issue for years. I understand how painful and scary it can be.

Once you get sorted out you may want to stay on the stool softner

I take 2 Colace every morning. And sometimes I have to take something else. Once you get your liquids up it will be easier to manage. I plan to take the Colace for as long as I need. Good luck!

It's not time to panic yet. Your body can go a few days without a bowel movement. Try Milk or Magnesia or something like that and keep sipping, sipping, sipping Water. It'll happen.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
