rs 1,473 Posted January 2, 2020 Semi on topic. But I actually really like Edamame & Black Soybean Pasta. They are pretty decent substitutes for regular Pasta and have a huge amount of Protein, and moderate carbs. Oh goodness, I don't think I could get past how much the black soybean one looks like worms 🤢🤢🤢 1 1 ms.sss and Losingit2018 reacted to this

Stella S 612 Posted January 6, 2020 bread promised to be my friend but was not It still lies to me. One thing is that since my surgery I cannot stand the smell of the preservatives and most bread products and tortillas. I have become hypersensitive so I’m limited to either fresh or frozen varieties. I decided back in 2017 when in France I can have bread and croissants. I can have Bagels in New York City. Bread still calls my name.
sillykitty 10,776 Posted January 7, 2020 Aldi Zero Net Carb bread was a THING back in the fall. Quickly went out of stock due to demand (think Popeye's chicken Sandwich). But rumor has it is is back as a regular item, but supplies are still spotty https://www.delish.com/food-news/a29520804/aldi-keto-friendly-sliced-bread/ 5 djgirl19, glannin, Losingit2018 and 2 others reacted to this
2Bsmaller18 436 Posted January 7, 2020 Of course never having it in your house is an option. However, do you think it would work if you bought some and put the loaf in the freezer with 2 slices in a baggie and let yourself have one baggie a week?
Jolexis 203 Posted January 7, 2020 I don’t allow bread in my house and if I buy it for the kids, I make sure it has raisins in it. 🤢 I understand the trigger. Mine is chocolate. I LOVE high quality, pure milk chocolate (or with champagne infused 🥴). I’ve come to realize that it just can’t be in my house. We all have our vices, it’s just a matter of drawing a line in the sand and not crossing it. 💚 2 ms.sss and rs reacted to this
mousecat88 2,281 Posted January 8, 2020 So, update.... I gave all of my bread and crackers to my stepdad. Just better NOT to have it in my house. I will still allow it if I am out at a restaurant... but it doesn't need to be in my home where I can just eat it every meal. Already dropped 2lbs by reverting back to my strict bariatric-friendly diet. I plan on having some falafel on a pita for lunch today - my "bready" treat for the week - going to lunch with a coworker. 2 1 FluffyChix, ms.sss and rs reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted January 8, 2020 I'm a year post-op and still can't eat bread because it gives me the "foamies." I consider that a blessing to keep me from eating it. One less food to make me fat. 1 Greenfeather65 reacted to this

Great job seeing an issue, addressing it, and then seeing a positive result! Bravo ! 1 🌱VeGan❤️HeArT🌱 reacted to this

Sheribear68 3,201 Posted January 9, 2020 My kryptonite is potato chips. When we went to DC last month, I thought I was being smart in buying some pita chips and hummus, but the pita chips triggered me the same way unfortunately. With the amount of restriction that I still have, I can wolf down half a bag of pita chips AND 3 glasses wine apparently. It was frightening how quickly it all went in and sadly it didn’t make me one bit sick. We didn’t buy any kind of chips the rest of the trip.... 1 rs reacted to this

Now that makes me wonder... 1 Greenfeather65 reacted to this
