KayLow42 28 Posted December 29, 2019 The day of surgery and the day after surgery were difficult due to the gas pain. The gas pain was so so so bad and the only thing that helped me was to walk. I begged for some gasX and they gave me some, but it didn’t work. The narcotic pain medicine did not work either. The only thing was walking and that’s the last thing I wanted to do. I stayed in the hospital for two nights which was required for my program. I stopped taking pain meds the day I got out of the hospital and have had zero pain since. I’m post op day 7 now and feeling pretty good. 2 kfunk307 and adkmalik reacted to this
Zoomzoom 45 Posted December 29, 2019 I had my sleeve done on the 23rd. Feel pretty good - for some reason, today has been a down day, but all in all, I'm doing well. 2 KayLow42 and adkmalik reacted to this
eporter 69 Posted December 29, 2019 Was sleeved 12/16, feeling pretty good. Over the full liquid diet for sure though lol. No pain. I have 1 incision that still aches and is draining but dr said it’s not infected so I’ve been watching it closely 😬 2 KayLow42 and adkmalik reacted to this
Ninja-slash-nerd 12 Posted December 29, 2019 I had bypass surgery on the 13th, it's gonna be three weeks now. My incisions are healing well, I feel dizzy sometimes when I get up, and I have only thrown up one day. I had no gas pain after surgery either. 2 KayLow42 and adkmalik reacted to this
jhow 3 Posted December 29, 2019 I got VSG on 12/17, so not two weeks just yet. I have had little to no problems. Sent home from the hospital a day early due to no need for pain meds and I was walking a ton. I did have two days at home where all I did was sleep on and off all day. By 12/23 I felt back to normal and was able to sleep and walk a few miles each day. I know I am lucky after reading through other's posts. My concern is what to eat. My doctor's office told me anything soft enough to cut with the side of a fork. I am vegetarian so meat is out. I am craving salads but they said not until month 2 at the earliest. Currently I am getting about 500 cal per day due to the Protein Shakes. Only a few bites of homemade runny refried Beans and ricotta bake. Just cleaned out my closet for the second time. I lost 50 lbs prior to surgery and got rid of many clothes but more needed to go. I have also pulled out the sewing machine to help get a little life out of some of my shirts and skirts. 3 KayLow42, NikkiN and adkmalik reacted to this

I wish I could actually enjoy the Protein Shakes, they’re so sweet to me. I bought premier and then a six star Protein Powder. Think I’ll go ahead and buy some unflavored powder to add to foods. I’ve been craving a salad too!! Can’t wait until I can have one. See I have 1 more week of full liquids before I start purées. It’s crazy how every dr has different plans to follow post op! 1 NikkiN reacted to this

Valkyriestar1 0 Posted December 29, 2019 I had RNY on December 18th. I have been uncomfortable ever since. I have a problem where I feel the stitch they put in the muscle under "the big hole". Another problem is that I'm hungry. Either that or I'm interpreting an unhappy pouch as hunger. I don't even know anymore. There is just a constant feeling where my new stomach is that -something- needs to happen.
KayLow42 28 Posted December 29, 2019 Oh no! What does the stitch feel like? Does your hunger feel the same as before?
CO_Adventurer 14 Posted January 2, 2020 (edited) I had the Loop Duodenal Switch (aka SADI-S or SIPS) on 12/26. I've been very fortunate - I've basically had no pain since the procedure other than the mild left should pain from the abdominal carbon dioxide used during the surgery. I've been on pureed food for three days now, so far so good with that. Drinking about 100 oz of Water per day and around 75 grams of Protein. Incision sites look good, I go back in a week to see my surgeon and have the stitches removed. Great job on the Protein too! 1 CO_Adventurer reacted to this
AlexInMerion 2 Posted January 2, 2020 I had my RNY on 12/12. I've been absolutely fine -- 100% -- since around the 25th. I'm down 17 lbs. in 21 days now. 1 NikkiN reacted to this
