odawa 0 Posted November 26, 2007 Hello I called my ins. to get the qualifications for the surgery. Symptomatic sleep apnea not controlled by c-pap, bite splint or surgery. I do have sleep apnea, but have no idea what the symptomatic is or how long it will take to qualify as symptomatic. Any ideas???
kacee 3 Posted November 26, 2007 Well, the symptoms of sleep apnea are snoring, ceasing to breathe while asleep and constant waking for air, drowsiness during the day...you can go to an ENT and be tested at a sleep center to verify. But apart from that, it specifies not controlled by CPAP, bite splint or surgery... in other words you will have had to go through some if not ALL of those treatments and FAIL before you can be approved by your insurance company. I don't think I would hang my hat on that.
odawa 0 Posted November 26, 2007 Well that sucks. I was hoping since I have sleep apnea I would qualify. I'm gonna try it anyway. I really hate that cpap machine with a PASSION!!!
