So it’s been hard for me not to eat too fast but I decided to start eating Greek yogurt, Peanut Butter and mashed potatoes.. I get a little discomfort but I thibk it has to do with eating fast not so much that I am not ready. What has been hard is getting my Water and Protein in... today was my best day so far, I had about 8oz of water and maybe 32grams of protein

I’m still scared of masturbaton but I’m gonna try maybe in a few more days I’ll update.. babe wanted to today but told me we should wait still he’s worried I’ll tense up when I’m about to orgasm and pop a stitch or something lol tmi but that’s my update

Any feedback or suggestions to any of this post is appreciated

i guess my feedback would be, if your go to foods are Peanut Butter and mashed potatoes, why did you bother going through surgery?

PB2 is an extremely healthier option than Peanut Butter.
(Compare labels)

Instead of mashed potatoes maybe egg drop Soup, cottage cheese, boiled egg, avocado, vegan meatballs in chicken broth.

I was told Protein first, that is key. 60-70 grams a day of protein Is our goal. Our tummies are too small for lack of nutrition Empty calories like carbs, bread, and sugar.
Breakfast for me is coffee with muscle milk Protein Powder. (50 grams). I will work on that for about two hours. I’ve noticed my energy level is way better when I do that. I will have one item of food for lunch, (usually only a tablespoon of food at most). For supper I do chicken broth with unflavored powder.

I will also suggest work on eating slower, take smaller bites, put your fork down in between your bites, read a paragraph from a story in between bites. Anything to get you to start getting you in the habit of slowing down. Success of your new stomachs future depends on it.

This is just a little of my story and a couple suggestions.

I truly wish you the best of luck💕

Take ricotta cheese and drizzle some no sugar added spaghetti sauce on it. Yum!

here's how to eat slowly...take a very small bite, about the size of an almond. Chew it thoroughly, about 20 seconds, swallow and put your fork down. Don't take the next bite until a full minute later. That way it should take you at least 15 minutes to eat. You definitely don't want to push your sleeve too soon--if you pop any stitches it is a MAJOR problem.

9 days and ricotta cheese is ok? the variety of doctors and diets and procedures is overwhelming.

@fatboyslim, I wasn’t really mentally prepared for surgery, I was diagnosed with cancer and my oncologist suggested it, I jumped through all the 4month hoops to get it and it’s not that I want to eat that it’s that I have no idea what to eat I haven’t had a big support system as far as my drs are concerned, I met my oncologist June 3rd and haven’t seen him since and won’t see him till feb I went to google to figure out what to eat and act got some ideas from this as my dr still has yet to answer my call about diet and didn’t bother coming at discharge from the hospital because he made a mistake not checking my heart and I had heart issues there

Hence I asked for suggestions.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems. There are plenty of people on here who probably know better than me about what your diet protocol should be, but please beleive me when I say that Peanut Butter and mashed potatoes are the exact opposite of what you should be eating at this stage.

i was on 3 Protein Shakes per day with 3-3oz meals of soft food, like cottage cheese, soft scrambled eggs, Greek yogurt for the first 14 days.

I am now on 3 oz Protein 2 oz vegetables and 2 protein shakes per day for the next 4 weeks. All meats and veg looked to soft. No carbohydrates like bread, rice, potato, fat at all!

Maybe some others in here can recommend a protocol as you apparently don't have a nutritionist working with you.

best of luck !

Try the peanut powders. They can add some tasty flavor to a boring Protein Drink too.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
