I'm so upset, I'm a slow loser

Can you reevaluate your expectations? Because that is about as far from being a slow loser as possible. Why be disheartened by something that isn't true?

I think what I was experiencing was my 3 week stall, just really early. I lost all that weight the first 10 days, then only .2 for the next 7. I seem to be losing a little again now.

I lost a total of 100 pounds . Thirty before my surgery, 70 pounds afterwards. It took me twelve months to lose that seventy. I too saw people losing ten pounds a week. I think those people are the extreme.
Slow and steady is good. Be prepared for frustration and stalls.
My surgery was almost ten years ago and I have been able to keep most of the weight off, right now I’m seven pounds up.

Please don't be frustrated, everyone loses at a different rate. I know that you read that many are losing faster and some are losing slower. Just keep steady and get your Protein and Water in and exercise in and I believe you will do great!! Perseverance is key. Good luck but I don't think you will need it. Just remember we are all here for you.

I lost slowly too. The upsides to this is that you skin loves you for it. You will lose weight, just listen to your doctors!

I feel like I’m also a slow loser. I’ve averaged 8-10 pounds a month. Once I started cardio it went up to 12-14 pounds a month. Also try intermittent fasting. If you average 10 pounds a month that’ll be over 100 pounds in a year. Your doing great!! Also the average weight loss is 10-15 pounds a month after the first month.

Thank you, appreciate you sharing!

That's a good point...thank you...not sure why I'm thinking this is a race...need to get out of that mentality. I stopped weighing every day which has helped my sanity.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
