mike2019 12 Posted December 27, 2019 It's been 2wks since my surgery, so my dietician started me of soft foods today and for next 2.5mos. I soft scrambled an egg for lunch. Added just a touch of lowrys and black pepper. It was so good I got it down in less than 10min. Had that with a stick of mozz string cheese. Felt okay afterward too. dinner I had 2.5oz of teriyaki flavored soft chicken and 4 wheat thins. I feel a little discomfort, likely the wheat thins. Swore I chewed them pretty well. I'd really like to scramble 2 eggs for Breakfast tomorrow, and eat what I can. I just want to be really mindful of meal weight or volume so I don't exceed what's allowed, and stretch my stomach. Losingit2018 1,170 Posted December 27, 2019 Sounds like you are doing well. Eat slowly putting fork down between bites. Pay attention to your body and look for your full signal. You want to stop just before full. Trust me when I tell you that you do not want to eat more than your pouch can hold. It would be painful and most likely make you sick. Everyones signal is different. Some sneeze, some hiccup, etc be careful until you figure out yours and good luck! Yeah i I don’t think that wheat thins would be considered a soft food. Best to stay away from sliders that add calories and don’t fill you up.
mike2019 12 Posted December 27, 2019 I have some lean turkey and chicken buddig meat to try. Also got some 3oz portion cans of tuna...(definitely without the crackers for a while), but it was on my allowed list along with corn tortilla. Got some street taco sized mini ones I may try a piece of one with some refried Beans. 1 Losingit2018 reacted to this
Losingit2018 1,170 Posted December 27, 2019 Yes I understand that different drs have different plans. I am surprised that they are starting you so early on basically empty carbs though.

That is definitely my goal too, We are one day apart from surgery dates. What types of Protein have you tried yet? I look forward to buying healthy cuts of lean fish, different types too. Junk food sounds disgusting to me, I hope it stays that way.
mike2019 12 Posted December 27, 2019 Yesterday it was an egg for lunch, and soft chicken with 4 low sodium wheat thins and lowfat string cheese fordinner. After the discomfort I'm holding off the crackers for now. Today I had 2 soft scrambled eggs w/ cheese for breakfast. Went down easy. Lunch was a street taco sized corn tortilla w/ soft deli turkey, a pinch of lowfat shredded cheese and light mayo. Followed by a low sodium mini V8 juice about 45min later. Feeling good! Plus, my weight finally dropped a couple pounds again. I'll probably have a greek yogurt or a partial container of Premier Protein for an afternoon snack to get more Protein in before dinner. 🌱VeGan❤️HeArT🌱 97 Posted December 27, 2019 I was warned to introduce food variety slowly...to see how your body will react. How did the v8 do? I’m afraid of the Tomato acids burning my stomach scar after reading some of these posts.
mike2019 12 Posted December 27, 2019 I'm good with no acid reflux from V8, but my doc has me on an antacid.
