How Many Ounces of Food at Four Months Gastric Sleeve?

I would rather be fat/current state than ever have to deal with logging 13 ingredients for a wrap into MFP.

Choices. :D I'm the last person to impose my way on anyone, or judge someone for it. :D It works for me. And all i REALLY know is what and how much I don't know. And I do absolutely support and respect someone else doing things in a way that makes them individually successful--especially when it's a different way than mine! I learn something new from the peeps here everyday!!

Happy New Year to you!!

The nutritionist at my doctor's office is not particularly helpful. I was hoping that someone could give me some guidance as to how many ounces of food I should be eating at one time if I am four months out from a gastric sleeve? Does this amount change later on? If so, when? Thanks so much for any guidance!

Sorry your nutritionist was not helpful

My instructions, three oz of Protein. I added veggies and other item on my plan when I had room to fit it in. I ate slowly and followed my signal of full.

No one can say when you may feel less surgery restriction. It’s different for each of us. My experience - Six months out, I could feel less sleeve restriction. Years out, my sensation of full and food volume is different. I logged and stayed within my weight loss calories and macros. It was a great way to learn the basics.

This plate may help give a visual of volume – follow foods allowed on your plan (starch was not on my plan)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
