applebees has weightwatchers meals that are great. The shrimp and steak terryiaki is fabulous. I also eat salads and grilled chicken. I avoid bread and creamy sauces just because of the calories.

I have not had any problems anywhere except for I tried a piece of chicken teriyaki-let me say that was my first and my last stuck!! I eat mexican, italian(ravioli is good), salads go down fine as long as I chew very well, and yes I have had pizza several times-no problems-but I would say stick to thin crust-papa murphys delite pizzas are good and lower on calories too.. have not tried steak yet or a hamburger-will prob be staying away from those for awhile.

Went to Cracker Barrel on Sat. I had the vegetable plate. It's 4 vegetables. I ate about 1/3 of the carrots, they were very soft. I had about 3 bites of the hash brown casserole, and a couple of bites of cottage cheese. I was then done and took the rest home. My friend had a meat loaf dinner, and she finished before I did! I just didn't feel like eating any more!

I go anywhere that I used to go. I don't do as much fast food as I used to.

If it's a sandwhich I always remove the top bread and eat w/a knife and fork.

I haven't found a restaurant yet that will let me order from the kids menu despite having the card from my doctor. Very frustrating.

I order full size meals and either share with my 10yr old or take it home for leftovers.

I have trouble with steak so I don't eat that out but I can eat just about anything else besides soft bread.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
