How often do others weigh themselves?

Recommended Posts

Some people weigh every day, others once a week, once a month, etc.

It all depends if you can handle seeing the inevitable fluctuations (it is a cause of stress and anxiety for some if the scale doesn't move, or if it goes up...)

Weigh as often as you can and still stay sane ;)

P.S. I'm of the weigh-every-day-at-the-same-time camp.

I do it every day because I don't mind the normal couple of pounds of fluctuation from Water, Constipation, salt, etc. that I see. If it bothered me, I'd weigh in weekly or less.

I get up, do my business on the toilet, step to undies and a t shirt, and weigh. Then I weigh again, then enter that into my app. Every morning. I think I've only missed a few days since my surgery mid-November

I weigh myself on Saturday mornings after I have an hours walk with the dogs. If I weighed myself more often, I start playing mind games which really doesnt help.

Once a week, Monday morning Wake/Bathroom/Weigh. Too often can lead to too much stressing over the number. There's alot more to this than just the number.

I threw the scale back in the box! Focus on getting healthy and in good shape! The actual number does not matter it is just a number -

I have seen so many posts here of people stressing out over a number a scale says, I chose to go for fitting into the next size down of cargo shorts then what the scale says, I chose to get my Vitamins and minerals in order, I chose to tighten the lose areas, NOT what the scale says.

I weigh once a week, although I may change the day of the week depending on activity/travel/holidays/etc.

I felt like daily would make me borderline obsessed, so I decided that once a week was more than enough to keep me on track.

DAILY!! I'm a data nerd and want to correlate what I did the day(s) before with any changes in my weight. I need all the information I can get to see trends as well.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
