CSVD57 0 Posted December 25, 2019 I am having bad heartburn with pretty much everything I eat. Foods that coat my stomach (cottage cheese, pudding, mashed potatos) are about the only things that don't cause it. Will this get better? I hope so. I had the sleeve done. I am also having problems swallowing my medicine that has to be split in half. I tried crushing them but they tasted terrible even when mixed with food. Is this normal? Should I call my surgeon? It seems to be getting worse. Otherwise I do not regret having this done. I have lost 50 pounds and feel so much better. The knee pain and general body aches are almost gone and my energy levels are getting better!
catwoman7 11,220 Posted December 25, 2019 when did you have surgery? Does your surgeon have you on a prescription antacid? Most of us were on a PPI (or similar prescription antacid) for the first 3-6 months after surgery. If you're not on one, check with your surgeon and let him/her know what's going on. They may put you on one.
