Surgery on 6 Feb. Really looking forward to it but freaking out as I’m going abroad and now constantly running worst case scenarios through in my head! Not required to do a pre op diet but doing it anyway.

I've never heard of no pre-op diet at all. What country are you going to? what's your bmi?

I'm Feb 3rd. I'm getting a revision from mini gastric bypass to full bypass to fix acid reflux. I only have a 3 day liquid diet, first 2 days are full liquids and 3rd day is Clear Liquids. I'm going back to Mexico because insurance won't pay for the revision. They said the acid reflux is a complication of my prior wls which is so not true! but whatever insurance does whatever it wants.

I'm Feb. 3, too! Good luck! I'm having mine done in Boston so we will be 3000 miles apart....You have had a great weight loss already. Speedy recovery to you.

I’m scheduled for gastric bypass on Feb. 13th. Should be a great Valentine’s Day for me and the hubby. 😁

Let us know how things go for you.

I’m also thinking of doing it in 2/14 lol. No romance in the air for sure

My paperwork was submitted to my insurance 1/21/2020. On 1/23/2020 I got an email from my insurance letting me know I was approved. My surgeons office just got the paperwork today.

We'll be one day apart [emoji846] woohoo!
@ doublepau when will you start your pre op diet? (if you have one) My pre-op appointment is 2/7 so I assume I be be starting then or shortly thereafter.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
