divag822 15 Posted February 28, 2020 Yes! For the first 2-3 weeks my feet and my whole body was freezing. It’s been almost a month and I have resumed a normal response to the temperature. Sounds like a natural response. 1 PSquared_vsg reacted to this

smund 7 Posted February 28, 2020 I'm home. I had a terrible time with nausea and vomiting. I was seriously composing a goodbye letter to my family. Two teeth broken during intubation. will have to worry about that next week. stiff and sore shoulder but better in fits and starts 1 Mello1 reacted to this
ResaRoo 77 Posted February 28, 2020 I had the same experience as Lisa. Day 3 was physically the worst, and then it started to get better. A few emotional days afterwards, but pretty much back to “normal” now (2.5 weeks post op). I went back to work after 2 weeks and it’s been okay. I find that I get really tired after lunch, but just have to power through it. Hang in there!
ResaRoo 77 Posted February 28, 2020 @smund - so sorry to hear about your struggles. Things will get better. I hope they can repair your teeth easily. I didn’t even know it was a possibility until the surgeon told me about 20 minutes before surgery. 1 smund reacted to this
TheAngryMeow 99 Posted February 28, 2020 Day 3 post-op. Pain is mostly gone. Biggest pain is spitting up stuff and blowing a bloody nose (probably from Heparin). Feels like my throat constantly has something in it. Going through tissues like crazy. Still afraid to drink too much and get sick, but I'm doing pretty well actually. Incisions hurt when I move too much, but it's not bad. Still haven't gone to the bathroom, but will try again. I suffered from terrible nausea and throwing up on Wednesday night to the point where they wanted me to come back in. But I refused. I just wanted my bed. Glad I made the right decision. Gotta keep pushing through all of this.

MOHOJO19 15 Posted February 29, 2020 After getting two units of red blood cells on 2/27, I was finally able to join the sleeved club on 2/28. So far I haven’t had any vomiting, only nausea. The gas isn’t too bad either. I’m doing a lot of walking and my spirometer breathing exercises. 3 1 Mello1, niffer, CarmaCarmen and 1 other reacted to this
Xx1jpt5xx 93 Posted February 29, 2020 So last night was pretty miserable. 3rd day post op but first night home. Could not sleep in my bed. So painful. I'm usually a stomach sleeper but kept trying to alternate between back and side. Didnt get any discharge info on sleep. Might have to try sleeping in a recliner. My snoring was so bad my wife left and slept on the couch. Any tips to sleep better?
MorganF 20 Posted February 29, 2020 They told me to sleep in a recliner or elevated in bed with lots of pillows
Lesmud 21 Posted February 29, 2020 Had my surgery yesterday around 10:00 am. So glad it’s over. Everything seemed to go well I just can’t lay down or pass any gas so the pain is rough. Nurses don’t give anything because they say gas meds don’t work because this gas is within the cavity of the body. I just hope this passes soon. Anyone have a cure? After a week or so you don't have the pain in the incisions at all.
