alex76 184 Posted December 23, 2019 Interested in hearing from anyone who's had hernia repair surgery after bypass or sleeve. Advice? Thoughts? I am 6 months post op rny and was just told that I have to have an abdominal hernia surgery next week! Im trying not to panic about another surgery and not being able to exercise for 6 weeks. I've lost almost 120 lbs and I'm proud of my workout routine, so I'm terrified about breaking my new habits. I have 20 lbs left to lose and I'm sick with the thought that I'll gain some of my weight back. Appreciate any insights y'all might have for me. lvidacovich 372 Posted December 23, 2019 It won't keep you from all exercises. Start walking - just make sure you walk enough to get your heart rate up! 1 1 alex76 and FluffyChix reacted to this
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted December 23, 2019 I had an internal hernia open up and my gut slipped through. It was an ER type surgery. But I was out the in 2 days and walking the day of (surgery at midnight). It was laparoscopic. I was already at goal. But I think I was 134 night of surgery and today I'm 130lbs. So no probs with WL momentum in my opinion. Congrats on 120lbs of loss and on being so focused on building new fit habits!! You will get to goal!!! Good luck with surgery. Mine was pretty easy--45 minutes? 1 alex76 reacted to this
