I was able to drink well very early on a few days post op in the hospital I was already drinking around 60oz a day and after a few weeks that doubled and now I drink shakes everyday and Water and coffee or tea without any issues...

Never really felt much restriction of liquids except have to take smaller mouthfuls.

Just sip, sip, sip all day long and don't worry about measuring it. Just don't gulp or use a straw.

my surgery was December 10 2019. I was able to drink regular from day one. I'm drinking 2 premiere shakes and most of the Water. I hope it changes when I start to eat food.

I"m 2 days postop today. I take 2 small sips that I would estimate is about 20-30ml (about 1oz). If I sip more than that at one time I feel pressure and uncomfortable. And everything tastes so SWEET! I have Gatorade Zero and it is extremely sweet that I need to dilute it. I've also tried Crystal light and barely add any of it to an 8oz glass bc it is also super sweet. Today so far I've had about 35 oz of liquids. This was much better than yesterday.

Our program's basic standard was to shoot for an ounce (28 ml, for those so inclined) every five minutes; if you can do that, great, if not, do what you can do. Some have a fair amount of inflammation in their stomach post op which makes it like dribbling the Water through a pinched soda straw, while others have little swelling in there and the water flows through fairly easily. Just sip a little at a time and see how it goes; if it goes easily, try sipping a bit faster, but if it threatens to come back up (or actually does) then slow down and do what you can - it will resolve in time.

I had little problem and was able to go through a bowl of broth (6-8 oz?) and a 4 oz juice box in one sitting (half hour?) in the hospital; my wife on the other hand was much more restricted and it took a while to resolve.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
