ms.sss 15,726 Posted December 16, 2019 It's challenging to cook off-plan foods for others without tasting it, I feel ya. Most times I used to ask whomever was around for a taste check, other times I'd put it in my mouth then spit it out (if I was checking for done-ness), and still other times I'd just serve it to them un-tasted 🤷🏼♀️. You gotta do what you gotta do. But ya, I wouldn't worry about the accidental "swallow". Since it is the exception so you should be fine ❤️ 2 FluffyChix and RaeSavage reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted December 17, 2019 Did it make you sick? Be careful and don't get any solid food for a couple of weeks post-op. Don't worry about the slip-up, it's not the end of the world. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this

Everything else is pretty much easy to make. But veggies? It’s hard to NOT taste. But I know better!! 1 FluffyChix reacted to this

New&Improved 1,780 Posted December 17, 2019 I find it sad that these men cannot cook for themselves.. I left home young but even before then I was cooking food for my younger siblings while mum was with the babies... 1 Krimsonbutterflies reacted to this

(or until your tummy can handle it) You've only just had surgery so your brain has a lot of catching up to do, just a teeny tiny blip and talk to yourself as though you are your own friend. You have huge lifestyle changes to make and it's gonna take time to adjust as everyone has already said 2 FluffyChix and RaeSavage reacted to this
MarvelGirl25 2,168 Posted December 17, 2019 Dont beat yourself up, you live and you learn. It takes time to get use to these new rules but eventually you will get use to them. I did the same thing during my puree stage and took a bite of broccoli while I was cooking it to see if it was ready and I instantly threw up. 1 RaeSavage reacted to this
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted December 17, 2019 You're drivin the bus to hell! Ha! Just kiddin! ((hugs)) I put a big fat moratorium on cooking in our house during that time. If it was pre-made, it didn't get done or he had to pick-up or eat out. 2 RaeSavage and ms.sss reacted to this
