I'm banded! I had my surgery yesterday and I was so nervous. Everything went well and there is not much discomfort, mostly gas. I am sipping Water and light cranberry juice but I'm hungry. I have lost 8 lbs with the pre-op diet. When can I eat something? a week? My doctor says 4 days of clear fluids then 7 days of full fluids. What Fluid will help with my hunger?

Hugs to all of you getting banded this month. We're on our way.

I've heard that Special K Protein Water helps...I haven't tried it yet, I have been adding Protein Powder to my Crystal Light and broth....seems to help a little. Good luck...the 1st couple of days are the worst then it's amazing how quickly you feel better!

Clear Liquids include jello.......can you have that?? I had some 2nd day and had no problems..........I had to stay on clear liquids for only 3 days then graduated to full liquids. Thats when I started back on my optifast.......I've never felt hungry. Take care and keep coming back.

Hooray - they had a cancellation and moved my surgery date up to the 25th from the 29th! It's only 4 days - but that is 4 days less of this pre-op diet!! I am so excited!

Hi Iwood, If you have something like Optifast you will find it has a lot of Vitamins in it and is filling when sipped slowly. This is what my dietician recommended also V8 vegetable juice with no pulp. I find it awful but if you heat it slowly it is like a Tomato Soup (almost).Don't forget a liquid Vitamin as well. If you sip these things every half hour it will stop you being hungry and getting dehydrated. Hope this helps.
