Going to be a slow go - I would say at most 10 days. Make sure you move and move around a ton right after surgery, It gets better every day!

Its the law for medical leave so try and shorten your shifts down a little to 5 hours may be a lot easier, but wait to you see how easy 8 will be when you drop a 100 pounds

you didn't say what surgery. I know the sleeve folks go back in a few days but I had bypass took me 3 weeks. And of course it will just "depend" on how your bod heals!

A friend went back after a week without issues but I went back after 3 weeks & I struggled at a desk job. My blood pressure was ridiculously low & besides all the dizziness I was exhausted.
I agree with reducing your hours &/or the number of days to start & see how you go.
If you have the leave available to you make use of it especially if you’re on your feet all day. Remember everyone heals differently.
All the best for your surgery.

I had my surgery on 12/12 and today at 1 week I am back at my desk job. I made it all day with no loss of energy or productivity. It was a really good day and I had no pain after day 2. I suppose everyone is different though. I am on my feet throughout the day, but mostly at a desk. It's the end of my 8hr shift now and I still have energy :)

Went back to work a week and a half after bypass today...I work from home & do a desk job. Unfortunately wasn't possible to take anymore time off.

Was definitely worn out by the end of the day, but part of that had to do with not sleeping well and being awake since 5am. I'm also still taking pain medicine, and dealing with various aches so I'm sure that contributed too.

If I had to be up on my feet all day I'd definitely want more time off than a week and a half, probably more like 3-4.

two more days before the sleeve and i have not been doing so great with my diet
To have a lifetime of success? Maybe, stop thinking about this as a diet. It is a lifestyle. Your life style. The way you see food has has to move towards health living. For me it helps. It also has taken 5 plus years for me to get it. That doesn't have to be your story.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
