I had my lapband removed and sleeve done on October 1st and I haven't lost much weight. My doctor told me that statistically lapband patients have a hard time dropping weight faster than someone who only had sleeve surgery. I'm getting very discouraged and frustrated because I'm not sure if it was even worth it! Help! I don't know what to eat or even if I'm eating enough and then when I do eat I feel like I'm eating too much.

Your doctor should have given you an eating plan. If he didn't, you may want to visit a dietician and he/she can help you. Or if you'd rather not, there are some good books about eating after bariatric surgery. Many of them can be loaded into a Kindle, if you have something like that. There's also a lot if free info on the internet if you google "eating after bariatric surgery". Good luck!

Hi ❤ perhaps you could:

*Try to locate all the information that was provided to you prior to surgery and go through it again to see if you missed anything

*Attend your follow up visits with surgeon and nutritionist (if offered or schedule one ASAP) to discuss your concerns, get tips and find out how the professionals think you are doing

And some tips for when the scale does not reflect your efforts❤:

*Compare beginning weight (when you decided to start the process) to current weight (today) -there will be a difference even if small... Think of this as an amount gone FOREVER

*Take pictures and measurements as a visual reminder of progress- who doesn't love before and after transformation stories? Create your own!

*Use a food/water tracking app to measure and log food precisely for a while - stay on track!

*Only weigh yourself if it does not negatively impact you, other wise wait until you see your Doctor (dont stress over the scale- there are other indicators of progress and success)

* Generally it takes about a year to see those amazing completely transformative results so you have some time

Good Luck 💚

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
