lvidacovich 372 Posted December 9, 2019 I saw my surgeon and team last week and got some good info on calorie and carb limits and it gave me a great idea. I came up with a rule of thumb for my food. 10 calories per gram of Protein and more protein than carbs and I can eat it! Why? I need 70 grams of protein and 700 calories a day so as long as I'm getting 1 gram of protein in with each 10 calories I eat it shouldn't be an issue! Carbs and Protein both have 4 calories per gram. If you have a food that has more carbs than protein then chances it it won't fit this rule of thumb. This won't work for everyone obviously but I wanted to share it as I know looking at nutrition facts can be daunting at times! 2 FluffyChix and GreenTealael reacted to this

Awesome! This is the rule that my RD gave me in classes, is that the goal is go get no more than 10cals/gram protein. Sounds like your program is similar to mine!!
