Losingit2018 1,170 Posted December 4, 2019 I had swelling post op as well. I drank plenty of fluids and walked/ moved around as much as possible. The Fluid went down after several days. Hope that helped. 3 FluffyChix, Healthy_life2 and lvidacovich reacted to this

Ymasita 11 Posted December 4, 2019 Yep, took the blood thinner shots in my abdomen, too. Elevated feet and more hydration has done wonders this morning. Thanks for the support, I'm so grateful for the sounding board and a forum to vent. 😁 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
2Bsmaller18 436 Posted December 4, 2019 Take a washcloth and roll it up, put it in your palm squeeze it with your hands. Point and flex your toes. Using those muscles contracts the muscles and squeezes the tiny veins to pump the fluids out. Try to do it 20 times 2-3 times an hour every hour will help a lot. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this

Fatboyslim1 204 Posted December 5, 2019 I am 30 hours our of sleeve surgery and weigh 7 lbs more than when I went in. I'm very swollen from the 4 liters of saline they piped into me. But it will go down I am told over the next few days.
Ymasita 11 Posted December 5, 2019 Not brave enough to weigh self just yet. Sporting baggy shorts and Water shoes till the Fluid retention goes down. I'm sure it'd be better if I could keep legs elevated. Almost got diuretics until I read about potential for ulcers. Does anyone think compression would help? I'm walking when I can but it's been difficult to get 40 oz of liquid in. Thanks for any/all input.
