I think I am doing something wrong.

Recommended Posts

I found that when I cut back on the number of carbs I was eating - only because breads don't like me that much- I saw a tremendous drop in weight. I also bumped my cardio up from 30 mins per day to over an hour. Start small though - but it seems to be helping. My surgeon's goal for me is 185 and i'm almost there. Good luck! (I also track all calories on dailyplate.com which really helped. I maintain about 1300 cals a day. The site is free!)

OMG, am I reading this right?!! Have you lost 168 since August of this year, 2007? WOW!

I am trying to eat less carb stuff. I was doing really good there for a little while but now, not so great.

Thanks for all that answered!

I wish I lost 168lbs this year =)

That was from my highest weight.

I was 282 when I started WW mid January 2007. So I have lost over 90lbs for the year. Not too bad. I did lose about 50 prior to surgery. Figures I would get approved right after that!

I have only lost 29 since my surgery, but I feel great!! I have dropped a couple pant sizes and get compliments all day long. I look at my slow loss as a bit of a blessing because I fear the loose skin. So far, I am staying really toned with the help of my workouts and I would like to keep it that way.

Don't worry so much about the number, but more so how you feel and how your clothes fit so much better.

Good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
