Rolltide87 62 Posted November 28, 2019 I had the sleeve done 11/15/19, and I know when they cut through the stomach they also cut through nerves in the stomach....but I need to know if it's "normal" to not have feeling in your bladder? I can't tell when I need to pee because I don't get the feeling anymore so I literally have to just go after time has passed and guess when I need to go... Anyone else have this issue or had this ??! 1 Slownstedy reacted to this
MourningTheLossOfBeer 42 Posted November 28, 2019 I would say it's probably not normal, it did not happen to me. But might be common with this surgery or the nerve block they give you. Did you discuss it with your DR?

catwoman7 11,221 Posted November 28, 2019 I've never heard of that. I'd call the surgeon's office.
Daisyjayne 124 Posted November 28, 2019 I had issues the few days after surgery, apparently the anaesthetic can affect your bladder. I didn't feel like I needed to go, and when I did, couldn't empty my bladder. So I needed a catheter, joy of joys. I still felt weird for a few weeks, it's all back to normal 7 weeks out though. Definitely a question to ask your surgeon.

Sunshine Diggity 10 Posted November 28, 2019 (edited) Hiya doll. I had mine done 14 days ago 11/13 and I STILL feel the same way. It's pretty bad. I also stayed at hospital longer. My husband and family was very against this surgery so I don't have much support but what doesn't kill me makes me stronger, right? I get what the doctors call spasms and I'm still on ice chips and Protein Drinks. Girl... I've had 4 children and this surgery pain is 100% worst than childbirth IMO. I didn't realize how much pain comes with the surgery. My doctor told me I'll feel like **** for 2 months truthfully. Stay in touch and we'll get through this together. I need some kind of support. I wish there were physical support groups in my area but oddly there's not so here I am. My name is Sunshine & I live in Tempe, Arizona.. currently Edited November 28, 2019 by Sunshine Diggity reply to wrong post

Well I had gone to the Dr and they ran tests to make sure there was no internal post op infection and everything came back normal. So maybe it'll wear off ? I was checked for infections via urine and blood test and X-rays , all clear. So idk... Maybe my body is just taking longer to recover ? No clue. I don't have pain associated with it and I'm not dehydrated at all. So that's a plus. Happy Thanksgiving! 1 LadyVS reacted to this
