MrsRobinson4411 5 Posted November 25, 2019 Hi there. I am a t 3 weeks post op tomorrow. I am still in the liquid phase as I have not been able to transition to full liquids or soft foods. Anyone further along in the process that has had the same experience?
Dances with Carbs 168 Posted November 26, 2019 I was nauseous first two weeks on liquid diet. I didn't puke but always felt like I could. At my two week check up, I reported it to the Dr who said it was common due to the Protein Drinks being harsh on stomach after surgery. He released me to soft food and it definitely helped. By the 4th week, I was no longer nauseous and havent been since. I'm 9 weeks post op and only have to drink 1 Protein Drink a day. I hope your nausea doesn't last long. Orchids&Dragons 9,047 Posted November 26, 2019 Did your doc prescribe muscle relaxants? Mine did for the whole first month. He said the trauma to the stomach often made it cramp and churn and the muscle relaxants helped it to heal.
MrsRobinson4411 5 Posted November 26, 2019 Ha!!!! No, but my primary doctor mentioned it and I actually have on hand due to severe leg cramps I was plagued with prior to surgery! That makes perfect sense. Thank you for the reminder!!!
GothGal 47 Posted November 26, 2019 Try sniffing peppermint or sipping lukewarm mint tea. That may help a bit. I hope this issue resolves soon.

Well, I'd check with the doc first to make sure it's ok. But it may help.
