loridee11 522 Posted November 25, 2019 I am starting to think about my post op diet and I'm curious if anyone mixed Protein into your SF Jello and if it still set? I have Isopure unflavored protein so I could do any flavor. If not, I'll give it a test. BUt if you have and it failed would be good to know. Thanks, Lori 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
lvidacovich 372 Posted November 25, 2019 I did it and it worked fine for me! I also use collagen and it kinda turned my Jello into gummies haha.
Brent701 438 Posted November 25, 2019 SF pudding masks the Protein flavor better. I was a bit grossed out by the protein added to SF Jello. 1 Slownstedy reacted to this
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted November 25, 2019 (edited) Yes. It's also good mixed with plain greek yogurt and liquid vanilla stevia. Stirred together then chill until set. Kinda like that sour cream Jello creation our mom's made back in the 60-70s. I just made this. I wouldn't recommend it until totally healed from surgery and having zero food issues or swallowing issues cuz it's really dense! S@ssen@ch 745 Posted November 25, 2019 I did it. It was a little "different", but not unpalatable by any means. 1 word of caution: many Protein powders may curdle at high temperatures. Make sure your Jello is cool enough for your Protein Powder before adding it. I agree with the others. Protein powders do better when mixed with dairy like milk, yogurt, puddings. BUT, if you're trying to achieve a protein supplement for your Clear Liquids phase, protein jello works: Here's a recipe (substitute SF jello): https://unjury.com/recipes/jell-o-high-protein-high-calorie/
