New bandster - need help with drinking...

Recommended Posts

I was banded on Monday and have been doing clears and now full liquids. How do I know when I have had enough - I don't get a full feeling yet I am not hungry - I do get nauseaous sometimes but feel better after I drink something like a Protein Shake.< /p>

Can too much liquid make you vomit?? I just cannot tell how big of a sip to take and when to stop drinking or does the liquid just go through.

How soon can I try fat free pudding?

Help - confused

Hey Lauren,

I was banded tuesday and know exactly what you are talking about.. the only thing I have been following is what the nutritionist told me.. about 2-4 oz of full liquids three times a day.. and sip Water at 2-4 oz per hour in between meals.. trying to add up to 32. oz a day.

i know that feeling you are talking about.. but i think if we stick to this.. next week we will be better... also, i think they said it takes 30 min to feel full.. so take a few oz.. then wait about 15-25 min and see how you feel..

I hope this helps.. my doc said fat free suger free pudding is ok.. but in small portions.. maybe try yogurt? or what my plan is to dilute the cream of wheat single packages with water.. and mix in some protien powder and have a few oz. of that.. better than broth! :D

Take care :D

This is a healing stage and it is very important you listen to Doctors orders now, this could effect the whole outcome of this procedure. Go the alotted time you were told on mush and liquids. You will know when you can do mush. If you rush things now you could damage or hinder your success rate a great deal..

Its a hard time now but please listen to the Doc. If you dont you will worry yourself to death too by the way as in why or if this or that is working correctly.

The band is just there and some swelling now. When that starts healing you will be able to eat and want too. Some people have different restrictions. You may only need the band with no adjustment to lose a lot or you could need a lot.

Congrats anyway and hang in there!
