Does anyone who is pre-op or post-op watch YouTube channels that talk about WLS? During my research, I have watched a few people's channels, and they have been very informative for a person like me who is in the very beginning stages of WLS. If anyone has some YouTube channels they watch, please feel free to share.

Just passing along the information....

Dr. Duc Vuong

Clusie L

Dr. Matthew Weiner (more of the technical and medical perspective about WLS)

Minnie Me in TN

Chrysalis - With Kelsey (Bariatric Beauty & Finishing School)

Oh, great post!!!! I watch a few of these people. Clusie is my favorite and were both Virgos, lol. Dr. V is brutally honest and I operate in honesty. I just started watching a few of the others who are very informative and were consistent. I'm watching more as I get closer, I love research and it gives me an outlet to feel as if I'm talking about it and asking questions I wouldn't even know to ask. I feel fortunate between BP and YouTube WLS videos.

Love Dr Vuong! I definitely watched YouTube videos pre-OP and in the beginning post op. Glad I did but glad I have moved on from my obsessive research. Now I al just paying attention to my body and go with the flow.

Dr. Vuong no longer performs surgery. He sells MLM products (pyramid scheme) to vulnerable people who are easier to rip off.

There are few things more corrosive to my opinion of a person than hearing them pitch an MLM. A lot of folks are just naive, but this move by Dr. V. just seemed so calculated. What kind of person does that? Nobody I want to take any sort of advice from, at the very least.

He's not interested in his patients, he simply wants to be famous for being a surgeon! He's narcissistic and greedy. He's no longer employed as a dr anywhere due to ethical, medical and legal issues! He no longer does MLM products. Looks like nobody wants him. Right now he's motivational speaker/influencer on YouTube in order to make some money. SUUM CUIQUE (latin for "to each his own")

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
