BariKeto 2 Posted November 20, 2019 I am now 4 weeks out on soft food stage and nothing appeals to me anymore. I was thinking just a cup of noodle just to get something in me but not sure if that will even sit well, and I was also wondering about peanuts and saltine crackers because they can be kinda bland. Yea I am aware those 3 things aren't good for you but I'm limited on what I can tolerate now and lost 50 pounds and am not to worried about a Stahl and carbs at the moment, becasue I'm literally not eating anything. I just need some advice because my NUT hasn't responded to me in about 3 days.Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
Kimberly3 71 Posted November 20, 2019 Peanuts you may want to watch. Walmart has whole wheat saltines. They are pretty good. I had Campbell's chicken noodle Soup. One can is like three meals but I did ok with that. 1 BariKeto reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted November 20, 2019 if they have you on an ultra-low carb plan, then saltines & noodles (in the soup) wouldn't be good choices. I can't remember when we were allowed to eat nuts, but it wouldn't have been that early out. At that point, I was mostly eating things like yogurt and hummus. 2 New&Improved and FluffyChix reacted to this
Darktowerdream 421 Posted November 20, 2019 Nuts and crackers are too early for four weeks out but check out BariatricPal for Soups. They have Protein soups. Try them to see how your body reacts. They make broth flavor Proteins, soups and they do make protein crackers but some things are best reserved for maintenance. If you can manage carbs (I can’t very well) try their protein Pasta for soft foods. They even have protein mug cakes, pancakes and more, palatable things. I really like their Protein Shots. Try to get creative what you eat. 3 FluffyChix, BariKeto and Healthy_life2 reacted to this
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted November 20, 2019 It's normal at 4 weeks to have food apathy or aversion. You do not need extra crap food that lights up your pleasure (munchie) center. You got this surgery to lose weight, to lose weight quickly, to lose weight with the least amount of pain/inconvenience of your life. Lose weight the easiest it will ever be in your life. Don't screw it up with crap slider foods that offer no nutritional payout except to make you hungrier. Embrace the nothing sounds or tastes good. Go without. We can all stand to skip a meal or two. I assure you, when you're hungry enough, that Protein Drink or yogurt will do you just fine. 2 catwoman7 and Danny Paul reacted to this
Danny Paul 761 Posted November 20, 2019 As usual great advice from Fluffy. At four weeks my doctor had me start soft foods which consisted of things like scrambled eggs, yogurts, cottage cheese, etc. No where were peanuts ( a good snack later on) or crackers (a useless carb) on the eating plan. 12 hours ago, BariKeto said: lost 50 pounds and am not to worried about a Stahl and carbs at the moment, Congratulations on the 50lb weight loss. You should always be "concerned" about what you eat today. Why? We are given a very good jump start to a healthy life with our rapid weight loss. This will not go on forever, it will stop. The habits we acquired during this honeymoon period will stay with us as try to maintain the weight loss for the rest of our lives. As my nutritionist told me, I have a clean slate as far as what foods I will let back into my life. She said choose the foods wisely today because they will be with me for the rest of my life. Be concerned about the carbs today as they will affect your success tomorrow. Good luck and good health. 1 1 FluffyChix and Healthy_life2 reacted to this

lvidacovich 372 Posted November 20, 2019 50 pounds just since surgery? In 4 weeks? WOW! Also by week 4, which I just hit yesterday, I personally was cleared to eat anything other than salad and raw veggies. I had a sleeve. I know nuts are something that don't always sit well but I'd stay away from all those processed carbs. 2 FluffyChix and BariKeto reacted to this

Take full advantage of it! It'll never be easier to lose weight than when you're apathetic toward food. Of course, you need to eat for fuel - you don't want to get sick - but eat healthy things that are on your plan. You want to lose weight, right? Then don't fall for crappy food. Especially now in the honeymoon period when weight loss should be relatively easy. Trust me, it gets way harder once you're a few months out. Milk this time for all its worth!! 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
BariKeto 2 Posted November 20, 2019 To the people saying dont put crap in your body. I'm well aware of that. My normal diet contains low carb anyways. Please dont be a know it all. I haven't eaten for 4 days and keep having to go into the hospital because I cant hold anything down. Dont speak on what you dont know because I'm willing to try anything just to get some food in my body at this point. I'm not weak. I dont have craving for junk. I'd have a salad if I could or a Tomato or veggies but cant even eat those! So dont lecture me on what's good or bad for me because I know! I just asked a simple question. If you dont want to answer or give advice on an alternative then that's fine, but dont lecture me about nutrition.Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 jackie.taylor reacted to this

Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app Had you led with this post instead, my reply would have been ENTIRELY different. You are in a medical situation. Ask your Doc or RD or go to the ER. That would have been my advice. But you do you, boo. Sorry you are struggling. Darktowerdream 421 Posted November 20, 2019 I am sorry you didn’t mention it being a medical issue vs a taste issue, I hope my comment didn’t offend you I wouldn’t judge a persons eating if they are struggling with eating at all. You need Protein. And Vitamins. Period. If it won’t stay down for medical reasons than all the more reason to reach out to your surgeon or go to the ER, trust me I had to go to the ER shortly after my surgery and I didn’t want to I was stuck in hospital another three days due to critically low potassium, acute uti, pneumonia, and diagnosed with a neurological form of dysphasia. I was later diagnosed with a stricture as well. I couldn’t tolerate anything but pushed to get protein even though I couldn’t drink Water and still can’t properly drink water or thin liquids. I drink hot tea even though it hurts and had things that probably were out of norm I got protein Soups from BariatricPal, because the pastas were easier to get down since they were very soft. I struggled to find what I could tolerate. Yes you do you and what helps you but get protein or get medical advice you can’t starve yourself totally. We just want to help not criticize someone struggling. 1 Zom B reacted to this
