SM16 10 Posted November 19, 2019 (edited) Anyone here with Texas BC/BS? I've scheduled my first consult for December and know they require 6 months with a nutrition program before surgery. I'm in school and want to get the surgery done over the summer ASAP so I won't be at risk of missing any of the fall semester. How has the timing been for everyone else on this insurance? Has anyone had any problems getting approved for the surgery right at the 6 month mark? Thanks!!! Edited November 19, 2019 by SM16 title
lvidacovich 372 Posted November 19, 2019 BCBS Arkansas here - timing wasn't an issue. I met my providers criteria on Aug 22, they scheduled surgery for Oct 22 and I was submitted for approval in late September and had approval on Oct 2.
Kimberly3 71 Posted November 20, 2019 BCBS New Jersey. I had a 6 month wait as well. At my consult we scheduled all classes, nutrition consults and tests right then. I started in April, they went for approval in September was supposed to have surgery Oct 1st, but health wise needed to be pushed back to the 15th. It seems like a long wait but it went quick. You should have no trouble scheduling for June/July.
