Yea sweetie walking. Some of the air that they fill our abdominal cavity with will work it’s way to our intestines to be passed but most of has to just absorb into our body. They fill our cavity with air not out intestines. So passing gas may not help much. (Even though my NP jokingly says she lets patients believe gas x works as long as it “helps” them she is fine with it) it took me a while to really start feeling normal again I would say day 5 or 6 was my second curve I turned. This was my first surgery idk if it’s yours? The hardness you may be feeling a healing bridge. Just ur body protecting your new baby stomach. :) our bodies are so amazing. So listen to what it says. Keep up on ur pain meds. Or Tylenol and rest as much as you can. Let your body heal. How is your Water intake and Protein coming along?

I am sipping every chance I get, either Protein Shakes, popsicles, or a big jug of Water. A few things I’ve found that make the pain worse is drinking cold water and then taking a sip of warm Soup. Plus anything ice cold makes my stomach spasm. I keep hoping the walking will make it better, I get up every 15 minutes and walk around the house. Thanks for your encouragement.

24 pounds at two weeks is fantastic. !’m only down half that amount and also had sleeve on 1/6. You’ve motivated me to do more walking.

Well, the 24 lbs includes the week or so before my procedure when I was on the prep diet, but still, I'm glad if my progress has motivated you! Keep at it!!

Has anyone been having strange vision issues after? Prior to surgery I had perfect vision, now when I try to look at anything close up it is really blurry. It’s fine for things a little further out though.

No vision issues for me so far Post-OP and I am almost blind as a bat.

Haven't noticed anything but my eye Dr did tell me that your vision changes as your a1c changes. He wouldn't give me a new prescription for this very reason.

Did you get a scopolamine patch for nausea? After a few days they can cause blurry vision.

Ok. Counting weight at start of pre-diet I’m down a total of 25 pounds so I guess right on track. But weightloss has stalled for the past week and I’m following the diet religiously, including walking. I’m thinking one morning I’ll get on the scale and show a 5 pound drop overnight. Just really having problems with Constipation so maybe that’s the issue with not showing any weightloss on the scale. Drinking the full 64oz Water, sometimes 72oz, and urinating frequently. Yesterday I switched to Unjury whey Protein isolate from Premier Protein shakes and can already tell the difference in that my system feels cleaner. I think the Premier protein is just too good to be true and is the reason I’ve been having constipation. Will see how things go with a few days on a cleaner protein. Unjury is medical grade protein with outstanding customer service and I really wish I had started this journey using a higher grade protein. 4 week post-op is this coming Friday and looking forward to going on soft foods. I have a feeling I’m probably not getting enough calories-less than 500/day currently.

I did, they gave me one when I got to the hospital and sent me home with a few more. I get bad motion sickness, so I guess when this patch wears off I’ll see what happens. Thank you very much.

11 days post op and down 22lbs and back in the 100’s for the first time in years. I’m in shock. I still have a long way to go but I’m so happy right now. I won’t lie I have moments where I question my decision because this is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but I know I’m doing this to live a long healthy life.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
