I had to review my documents last and I will not be able to have anything close to what you are allowed until 2/16/20. There's the Clear Liquids from 2/1-2/4 , full liquids 2/5-2/15, Puree 2/16 - 2/29, Soft transitioning to solid 3/1 - 3/6 - phase I. Soft transitioning to solid foods phaseII 3/7 - the next 7 to 12 weeks.

This is from my documents and was reviewed on Friday with the Bariatric case manager. She reiterated how important it is to adhere to each stage and not skip a stage.

This is absolutely doable, because I'm committed to making sure I don't injure my sleeve or think that I know more than my Bariatric team. I have accepted that we are all on extremely different programs with extremely different Bariatric Dr. & surgeons.

With that being said, I may be a little bit jealous that you are skipping pureed and that you liquid phase is short...😫😔😒

Its not a one size fits all, let the games commence...

O wow that is a lot different. Yes every surgeon is different and sometimes they perform the surgery different which could effect healing etc and why they want us to do different things. They all have there reasons as to why there theory is best for there surgery healing. My surgeon has been doing this for a long time and he teaches people around the world Mexico, the U.K., New Zealand and of course also in the US lol so his techniques are probably different? And he may be more lenient on advancing stages faster? But someone that was in a pre op class with he has her in full liquids for 2 weeks. So I think it may have something to do with her medical problems. And he see that certain patients can’t advance as fast? So I think he trailers his standard guide a lot of needed or certain situations.

I am feeling AMAZING today. I have no pain. I’m with my baby and we are back to our normal routine. It 6 days out from surgery. So I am very happy with results.
I weighed myself today
Starting weight 289 ( before prenop liquid)
Pre op weight day of surgery 280? I think
Current weight 270
Goal weight 155

I finally got my time! I have to be at the hospital tomorrow morning at 7:00 am, the surgery is at 9:30 am. Hoping and praying that everything goes well and I have an easy recovery. Good luck to everyone else having surgery this week. I can’t wait to hear how all of you are doing.

I wanted to post this first here. Three huge influences in Bariatric Surgery have come together and made an amazing program!! I am already signed up! I will attach the link and you can read all about it. It covers three huge factors from three totally different prospective.
1. Our mindset ( our mind hunger)
2. Our eating lifestyle and cooking
3. Our fitness (safe and effective)

I will be starting personal training with Geoff here in Denver at my 6 weeks mark. He is referred by my surgeon which is a surgeon of excellence and also a teacher of Batiatric surgery to many countries.

I thought I would share with my Jan group first before posting around.
Because I know we all need it and what the best results the best long term outcome.

Hi everyone! I had a sleeve and gallbladder removal done yesterday. First few hours post op were rough. Too much vomiting and nausea to start sips, so going to give that another go today. Already much less sore, feeling like I can do this😊

So glad you feeling better!!! The nausea is rough at the beginning. With you new tummy. But it’s so worth it.

This is very, very similar to my progression. I'm over the liquids and its day 6. Haha.

We can do it though! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
