TheNewNay2019 8 Posted November 18, 2019 I am 1 week post op and am following the liquid diet but don’t ever seem to feel full or satisfied. Not sure if I’m not drinking enough or what. It can be excruciating at times. The paperwork sent home with me says to consume no more than 2oz at a time of broth, yogurt, etc. Does this sound like correct portions? Any suggestions? 4 GreenTealael, Slownstedy, Krimsonbutterflies and 1 other reacted to this
catwoman7 11,221 Posted November 18, 2019 yes - that sounds about right. And no - you won't feel full or satisfied for awhile. For one thing, your nerves were cut, and it takes them awhile to heal. For another, liquids go right through you. Once you're a month or so out and start eating solid food, you'll feel your restriction. In the meantime, just follow your surgeon's plan. 2 Krimsonbutterflies and Slownstedy reacted to this

AJ Tylo 1,399 Posted November 19, 2019 All normal - Some of it is in your head - Eat slow it will pass - Soon you will not be hungry at all 1 Slownstedy reacted to this
lingre 54 Posted November 23, 2019 I was incredibly hungry myself after surgery for weeks until I could start to eat solid foods. It was frustrating but I promise you will feel the restriction once you can eat solids too. Just stick with the plan until then:)!

Make sure you're also adding in your Protein Shakes and lots of Water. I think that's why you're being hungry. Try drinking 64 oz of water all day every day, trust me, you won't have an appetite. Good luck! 1 Slownstedy reacted to this

mr.sean 60 Posted November 25, 2019 Like everyone said, that's totally normal. Your appetite will decrease when you start eating more solids and you feel how it feels in your stomach, and how uncomfortable overeating by even one or two bites is.
Virginia B. 5 Posted November 29, 2019 I definitely agree with everyone. Make sure you follow your doctor's orders and drink the Protein Shakes and your Water. I have just begun soft foods and just one or two bites more than you actually have room for can be very uncomfortable. The Protein shakes should help you to feel a little bit more satisfied until you start on other foods. You got this! 2 Slownstedy and Krimsonbutterflies reacted to this
