2 Months Post Op!

Hi guys!

I had my gastric sleeve surgery on Sept 12th.
I finally weighed myself today (I have avoided the scale and focused on feeling good and getting familiar with my new stomach) and am officially down 50 lbs since my surgery date.
Is that enough weight to have lost so far or should it be more?
I just want to be sure I’m on track. I know I will eventually hit the dreaded “stalls” which is why I don’t really want to be a scale watcher.

I have started to slack off on the super healthy eating I was doing and I’ll tell you what.. that makes me physically feel like crud!
The high Protein, no breads, pastas, sugars, ect diet plus my Multivitamins had me feeling great. Now I’m noticing the icky old feelings creeping back a bit.
The only thing saving me is the literal inability to eat very much at all.
Anyway, rambling aside.. I’m sure I will be able to do well & feel good as long as I get myself back to the good old routine I began after surgery.
I haven’t even begun any form of exercise and I have a desk job.. so that’s another thing that’ll help with more weight loss once I get my Buns moving! 🤣

Love it finally another person who is not jumping up and running to the scale - and is focused on Vitamins and supplements.

Oh i agree you move off the healthy eating to just a little of junk and you feel like hell - I drank Friday and wrecked my whole day yesterday, No eating yesterday, feeling like hell -

As for 50 yes that is great you are about the same as me 3/4 a pound a day. Also I can not eat either it is a pain in the ass to eat and most of times painful

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
